Panic Attacks and Anxiety

Hello my lovelies. Hope you are getting in the festive season, I know I am!

Before I begin this blog post, I'd like to tell you that this a very personal thing for me to write. If you are a panic attack sufferer and you are reading this then I hope I help you all, even if its just one person, it would make me happy that I've helped someone in some way. I hope I can help you get a better understand of it.

Anxiety is a horrible emotion to feel, it effects us in all the different ways possible. It's a feeling that almost feels like you can not control, and just creeps right up on you. Although I am a panic attack sufferer, I still had to research some things about anxiety, and fount out things I never even knew. Everyone in the world feels anxiety, it’s a normal emotional state, just some people have an abnormal amount of anxiety and feel anxious when there’s nothing to be anxious about.

I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety for around 6 years now. So I really hope this blog post helps you who suffer from anxiety.

Anxiety affects about 1 in 20 adults in just Britain itself.

Whether you are aware of anxiety or not, it can still cause you to have an anxiety attack. You can be doing anything and it could be anytime of the day. They happen any time, which sadly you cannot do anything about- Example; You may be preparing yourself for a big exam or at a job interview. Either way- I do not wish these on anybody.

So what happens during a panic attack?

A panic attack is a sudden rush of adrenaline caused by an uncontrollable level of anxiety. When adrenalin floods your body, it can cause a number of different physical and emotional sensations that may affect you during a panic attack like-

Trembling, twitching, or shaking.
Feeling of fullness in the throat or chest.
Breathlessness or rapid heartbeat.
Lightheadedness or dizziness.
Sweating or cold, clammy hands.
Feeling jumpy.
Muscle tension, aches, or soreness.
Extreme tiredness.
Sleep problems, such as the inability to fall asleep or stay asleep, early waking, or restlessness (not feeling rested when you wake up).

Chills or hot flashes.

Panic attacks can come on very quickly, most last up to 5 to 20 minutes. Some people have even said they've had an anxiety attack that has lasted up to at least an hour- which is just mind blowing. 5 minutes is enough. Still to this day people don't realise how bad anxiety attacks are and how it effects your self esteem. When you have so many anxiety attacks, you start to feel almost like a nuisance towards people. I always used to turn things down because I was worried about the slightest thing, now I am starting to say yes to a lot more things. Saying YES to something can open up a new door in one of your life's- just remember that!

What helps me?

When I am having a panic attack, I like to be left alone or walk outside and get some fresh air to calm down and do my breathing. As hard as it sounds you must stay calm when having a panic attack, slow down and do your breathing ( it is so important to do so ). If I am with someone, I ask them to stay quiet unless I ask them for something. When you are in a panic attack, the last thing you want is people asking if your ok or not- I know it's nice of them to say, but you have no energy to speak as the energy is doing what not all over your body.

What to do if someone has a panic attack around you.

Although it sucks having a panic attack, I can't imagine standing next to someone feeling helpless feels very nice either. So these are some steps that I think helps and I have done before.

1. Stay calm. There is nothing worse than someone having a panic attack and you flapping around.
2. Be patient and accept their time.
3. Find something positive to say in every experience.
4. When someone has a panic attack- DO SAY "Stay positive, I am proud of you, Breathe slowly, It's not dangerous, Remember this is going to last very long"
5. Let them know your there to help.
6. Be supportive & reassuring.

I really hope I managed to cover everything and helped at least 1 person, if not everyone of you.

Remember;

You are not alone, everything will be OK. Panic attacks are so very common, very terrifying, but can NEVER kill you. Don't let Anxiety push your self esteem and confidence out the way- if so try and push the anxiety away. You can do it, you can do ANYTHING. Do not force yourself to go somewhere that makes you feel uncomfortable. If someone wants you to go somewhere and you don't want too, then DONT. You and your health is more important than making someone happy.

That's all from me guys, hope I helped in some way. Just remember you can do anything if you want too.

                                                             Take care all!

DIY- Cute cotton pad jar

Hello again lovelies! So this post isn't like my usual ones, it's a little bit more edgy.. I have recently been looking at these jars in my local shop in town and came across this idea..

The cutest little jar full with cotton pads! What more can you want. I felt like it was to plain so I added a love heart from a vintage shop. You can re create this yourself at home, with just a jar, cotton pads, and any accessories of your own choice.

hope you enjoyed this different kind of post tonight

My skin live saviour for October

Hello my lovelies! It's been a while, I have been super duper busy with starting sixth form and doing my A-Levels so I hope you don't mind that there hasn't been any uploads recently, but i'm going to be uploading a load of posts tonight to catch up with it all! As you all probably know the weather has took a big change and turned either wet and windy, or just freezing cold! Im sure you all know freezing cold wind is going to make your lips and skin chapped, which is the worst! Here is my favourite body moisturiser that I have been using a lot recently!

MANDARA SPA HONEYMILK DREAM NOURISHING BODY BUTTER

Just the name 'honeymilk dream' makes you want to smother this stuff all over, and this is exactly what I do. I hate putting on moisturiser and waiting 5 minutes for it to dry properly but with this it just sinks into your skin like velvet!

As you can see it is a white thick creamy consistency and just melts into your skin when you apply it, with this you only need a tiny bit, a little bit goes a very long way! Not only does it work wonders, it smells absolutely divine!

                                                                     RRP £6

Its worth getting your hands on this!

YouTube Announcement

Hello my lovelies!

Firstly I just want to get one thing out of the way with - I'm very sorry that I have not been uploading new posts! I've been so busy but that's no excuse!

Ok so I came on here to give you a bit of an announcement, as with the blog and everything, I wanted to go a bit further... And take it with a YouTube Channel- Me and my very good friend Kirsty have watched YouTube videos for absaloutely ages, I didn't know she watched them until we really got to speak and interact over Twitter etc. We have always thought to ourself how cool it would be to make a Channel of our own. So we both agreed on it and sat down infront of a camera and done what we've always wanted.

We have so many inspirations on YouTube | Zoella, PointlessBlog, CasparLee, MarcusButler, SprinkleOfGlitter.. I can go on but you get the jist.

As soon as we agreed on making our channel.. the pens and paper came out with ideas for the Channel name and video ideas etc.  We decided to call the channel BeautyObsessors. As soon as Kirsty knew I had a blog called the same thing, she thought we can carry on from that! We are/was so nervous and excited for our channel to be made because we've never sat down infront of a camera before and spoke about what we love and upload it to a YouTube where so many people can see it. This is the first video we done, I just want to point out we are no experts making videos nor editing. It has a watermark at the beginning for about 1 minute then it goes, again no expert.

5 hours later filming editing and uploading... this happened.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0ststFIrVw

If your interested in watching it, it'll be great if you could like comment and subscribe-
Mine and Kirstys information is in the downbar of the video also.

Thankyou so much :-)

Bourjois Color Boost Lip stain

Hello lovelies!

Bourjois Color Boost- 03 Orange Punch
Now these have been out quite a while and I don't even know why I've ONLY just gone and got myself one! So I saw these on Zoe's video (zoella, which I'm sure you've all heard of her)
and I really wanted to try them because everyone was raving about them! So I jumped out of the band-wagon and got one.

It glides on your lips like butter, not that anyone would want to smother their lips in butter but you get the picture. It blends beautifully into your lips with a vibrant glossy shine and sinks in like a balm and stays put for '10 hours' although mine only lasts about 4, but it doesn't bother me topping it up!

The packaging of these looks the same as Revlon Just bitten kissable lip stains and the Clinique Chubby sticks, which I really like. The crayon shape makes the application hassle free and you can easily use one of these without using a mirror.

Although these don't actually stain the lips like any other lip stain, they keep on but you can just wipe it off if needed and swipe on another colour! There so comfortable and soft on my lips, it literally feels like nothing on my lips because it's so light weight. All round - perfect!!

If you live near a Boots pharmacy, go check them out! Their on a 3 for 2 offer, you don't know what your missing!!
RRP £8

Nails Of The Day

Bourjois SO Laque Glossy- 04 Amande Defile

Alright my lovely ladies, another NOTD today!
I picked this Bourjois Nail polish up a few weeks ago in Superdrug, I heard alot about these so I thought I'd give them ago! I will definitely be buying more of these!
The colours a minty green/blue pastel, my kind of colour! The brushes on here are really thick, it's perfect just to simply glide on to your nails and its done. When you apply your first coat it's quite patchy, you need about 2 or 3 coats but it lasts ages, I've had this nail polish on for about 4 days now, it hasn't even chipped. My nails always chip even on second day, its so annoying. But these are fantastic, even better with a good base coat and top coat, it looks glossy and lovely. A nice pastel for the sunshine we've been having and lovely looking with a tan!

That was just a little review, but I enjoy doing these kind of blog posts! Let me know in the comments if you want any more ideas for my blog, I'm only just getting started!

Happy Saturday and enjoy the sunshine if you have it!!

Glossybox July 2013

Alrighty, so this months glossybox was quite alright. If you don't know what Glossybox is its a monthly subscription which is £10 a month including p+p. You sign up and fill in the info and you get given a wonderful gift box, wrapped beautifully and handed delicately - with 5 products to try out.

SLEEK - Pout Paints
When I came across these, I got rather excited! First off, the colours are loud + vibrant. The brightest pink and the brightest orange suits me just fine. From left - LAVA and from the right - Pinkini.
Alright, so these are highly pigmented lip stains- and they really do mean highly pigmented. You can mix and match around the colours and maybe do an 'Ombre Lip' these are a perfect little size to chuck in your bag, and to do different designs on your lips. A little goes a VERY long way!
RRP £5

CIATE Nail Polish- 'The Glossip'
This highly pigmented nail polish in the reddest coral excited me thoroughly. This polish has the biggest brush ever, good just to glide on and bad if your clumsy.. it gets messy..
This needs about two coats, and I must say it doesn't dry very quickly but doesn't dry annoyingly slowly either. These are the new summer collection shades- and I'm definitely looking forward to trying out some more different shades!
RRP - £9

ANATOMICALS - spray misty (full size)
I love, love this spray it is cooling and smells devine. It squirts on quite heavily- it could do with being a little finer. It doesn't set your make-up like it claims but for cooling down the face and body it is simply perfect!
RRP -£6

COOLA Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturiser
As we've been getting alot more hot weather in England I think its rather brilliant that Glossybox sent us a suncream, don't you?!
Coola organics suncare collection is hypoallergenic, free of parabens and packed with antioxidants. What more can you ask for? It provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fights free radicals, while soothing, toning and minimising your pores. It also delivers powerful moisture into your skin with the organic Acai oils.
RRP- Full size 50ml -£25.99

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Waves Tousled Texture Mist (sample)
This spray works similarly to a sea salt spray in that it creates soft bouncy waves in the hair but I do think that the effect will be entirely dependent on your hair type. Unlike sea salt spray this doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky and stiff nor a knotted mess- Although this product works like a sea salt spray just without that sticky tacky feeling left on your hair.
RRP- 125ml £23

So I dont know about you but im quite impressed with this months Glossybox.
If you have the lovely heat like we do, keep on top with the sun cream guys!

Happy Monday

WHATS ON MY FACE #1

Alrighty!!! Todays post is very different. I've seen these posts around on quite a few blogs- Mainly
Lilly Pebbles - whatihearttoday.com

WOMF- Whats On My Face?! Check out down below-

Ok so I was trying some makeup I haven't really used that much.
So I started off with my MAC Studio Fix Foundation/Powder which really is fantastic- It gives a medium coverage but you can build it up to a full coverage. It's perfect for oily skin too! (BONUS!) I use this with my Nanshy flat top brush which blends it in perfectly.
For a pop of colour I buffed on my STILA Cream Blush in Lillium on to the apples of my cheeks. This is my all time favourite blusher.

For eyes I wanted a bit of a subtle smokey look - So I of course reached for my Sleek palette in 'Au naturel'. A perfect amount of neutral colours with some darker ones to if you wanted to add a darker colour in your contour of the eye. I applied MAC Woodwinked all over the eye and used the darker brown colour in my crease, also using the black with an angled brush as close as to my lash line as possible - giving the subtle smokey eye.
I then applied my all time fave Rocket Mascara - Maybelline.

For lips I just used the Rimmel apocalipse lip stains which are amazing! They last on your lips for so long- Shade LUNA.

Brushes- Nanshy flat top brush
Real Technique buffing brush
Eco Tools angled brush
Coastal Scents 250 brush - also a dupe for MAC 217

Happy Friday everyone!

My Top 5 Drugstore Mascaras

Hello again lovelies. If your a beginner with makeup and need some mascaras under ten pound?! Check this out.

  • GOSH Growth Mascara
  • Jelly Pong Pong Mascara
  • Maybelline - The Colossal Mascara
  • Rimmel- Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara
  • Maybelline Rocket Mascara
okay so..

GOSH Growth Mascara
The GOSH Growth Mascara I got in June's Glossybox and I have fallen in love with it, I use it everyday.
Its a mascara that promises to having lasting results, instead of the normal temporary volume. Thanks to some special growth activators, its said to give you visibly longer lashes after just 2 weeks of use. It has a rubber brush with helps promote length and volume.
RRP £10

Jelly Pong Pong Mascara-
I also got this in May's Glossybox. Its a really nice mascara, i'm not really sure how to
describe how it goes on, maybe wet? Is that the word? Putting it in more sense, when you apply it, it doesn't glide on the lashes that well, BUT if you let it dry for about a minute and keep applying it still gives a nice look on your lashes. Not very voluminous.
RRP - Glossybox. under £10.

Maybelline - Colossal-
This was my first ever mascara I ever bought, and have kept re-purchasing it every time it runs out. This mascara does not clump (no matter how many coats you apply), if it starts to clump then you know its time to chuck it out and buy yourself a new one! Washes off really gently with a good cleanser, and it makes my lashes fuller, longer, and voluminous! ALL round favourite.
RRP £ 7.19

Rimmel - Scandaleyes Lycra Flex-
Its the biggest and fattest brush I've probably ever seen in my lifetime... (no joke)
It's a really nice mascara don't get me wrong, but the brush I find to big to apply on to my lashes, it goes quite clumpy after about a month, but giving great volume also.
RRP £7

Rocket mascara
I really adore this mascara, a nice sized wand - it doesn't give a big amount of product on the brush which is great because in that way, it will clump. It makes my lashes fuller and longer, and with a cat eye this is perfect, because it overlaps the flick and makes my eyes look AMAZING.
Really easy to get off also.
RRP- £8

Hope this was handy!

Product Of The Week - Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick. Alternative -Kate Moss Lipstick.

Hello again lovelies, catching up on my blog is a definite must have so I'm posting anything I've missed out on for a while, sorry I've been really busy!

My product of the week today is the Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick In shade 15. I saved up a tiny bit for this product and was debating whether to get it or not, So I made the decision...and it was a good one I made.

YSL Lipstick #15 Coral Extreme.

I had an after party to go to and wanted to jazz myself up a little bit more than I do daily.
So I thought, why not?! Treat yourself, only once in a while that is.

I picked this up at the YSL counter in John Lewis which is a big department store.
The lady was lovely, and giving me tips on these lipsticks. ( She even chucked a few samples of the YSL Serum in my bag, bonus! )

I have not only fell in love with the lipstick itself, but the packaging... oh my... *droooooools*
It's the most beautiful product i've seen. The gold packaging, the colour itself and of course the contents. It has a silky creamy texture and glides on to your lips like velvet, definitely a must have!!

Even goes with my nails...
This lasts for about 8 hours, drink and eat its still on.

Cheeky Selfie of me here.. but wanted to give you all a rough idea of it!
If your thinkin about spending a little bit more extra for something really luxurious, I definitely recommend
you all to get one. BUT If you want a dupe, and your on a budget ... Then here is a lipstick pretty much
the same colour, but a little bit more matte.
RRP £24

Kate Moss Lipstick Shade 12.

Alrighty, so this is the Kate Moss Lipstick- 12.
This was my first ever *bright* Lipstick, and as soon as I saw it I completely fell in love with the colour.

This is a little bit of an alternative blogpost so if your on a budget and you dont want to pay out
for a lipstick which costs a bomb, then this is great.

*SWATCHED*

I love these lipsticks, i thinks its quite matte but you dont have to worry about it being to drying on the lips. As long as you exfoliate and moisturise your lips before hand, it will be perfection. Do note however that it does become dryer throughout the day making it more visibly matte, which I quite like.

RRP £5.49

A big thumps up for these lipsticks. I hope you enjoyed this post, little bit different but I like different.

Nails Of The Day

Hello my lovelies, how have we all been keeping?! Well, I hope.

I've never done one of these before.. so don't expect too much but i'll give a shot! ... Alrighty - Nails of the day!!!

Alrighty, So these are the basics- Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, Nail file,
Sally Hansen Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener. Along side of that.. THE colour itself which
I will get into more detail about down below.

The Instant Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen is fantastic, I only purchased this about 2
weeks ago and i use it near enough all the time when i'm re painting my nails.
I never really got the whole jist of things - removing cuticles, filing them the right way etc etc.
When I saw this- Mentioned by Viviannadoesmakeup (http://www.youtube.com/user/ViviannaDoesMakeup) I went out and got myself one.

The Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener itself is also really really great. It has a thick brush which is brilliant,
it just glides on your nail with one stroke and done!! It takes about 60 Seconds to dry which is also a bonus.
You might be all thinking why is it blue? It's not, it's clear. I do not have any answer for why it is
that colour ( must be the ingredients itself ). Anyway, I use this for a base-coat and topcoat, perfecto!

I've seen a lot of people talk and rave about these nail polishes, so when i popped into boots, I came across them.
Theres a big range of different colours, from pastels to metallics to the general colours.

This is in the colour 'BOOGIE NIGHTS' and its a mixture of pinks, reds and oranges.
THE perfect colour for me and really brings out my tan I caught in the sun not long ago!

It's more of an orangey red but has a tiny pink undertone. The best part of these nail polishes is that they
can get away with 1 coat but i prefer two, and the price is only £2 !!!!

Alrighty so that was Nails of the day, hope you enjoyed!

Sally Hansen cuticle remover - RRP £2.79 (Ebay)
Sally Hansen Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener- RRP £3
File - Superdrug £1
Sinful Colours nail polish 'BOOGIE NIGHTS' £2
