Nails Of The Day

Bourjois SO Laque Glossy- 04 Amande Defile

Alright my lovely ladies, another NOTD today!
I picked this Bourjois Nail polish up a few weeks ago in Superdrug, I heard alot about these so I thought I'd give them ago! I will definitely be buying more of these!
The colours a minty green/blue pastel, my kind of colour! The brushes on here are really thick, it's perfect just to simply glide on to your nails and its done. When you apply your first coat it's quite patchy, you need about 2 or 3 coats but it lasts ages, I've had this nail polish on for about 4 days now, it hasn't even chipped. My nails always chip even on second day, its so annoying. But these are fantastic, even better with a good base coat and top coat, it looks glossy and lovely. A nice pastel for the sunshine we've been having and lovely looking with a tan!

That was just a little review, but I enjoy doing these kind of blog posts! Let me know in the comments if you want any more ideas for my blog, I'm only just getting started!

Happy Saturday and enjoy the sunshine if you have it!!

Glossybox July 2013

Alrighty, so this months glossybox was quite alright. If you don't know what Glossybox is its a monthly subscription which is £10 a month including p+p. You sign up and fill in the info and you get given a wonderful gift box, wrapped beautifully and handed delicately - with 5 products to try out.

SLEEK - Pout Paints
When I came across these, I got rather excited! First off, the colours are loud + vibrant. The brightest pink and the brightest orange suits me just fine. From left - LAVA and from the right - Pinkini.
Alright, so these are highly pigmented lip stains- and they really do mean highly pigmented. You can mix and match around the colours and maybe do an 'Ombre Lip' these are a perfect little size to chuck in your bag, and to do different designs on your lips. A little goes a VERY long way!
RRP £5

CIATE Nail Polish- 'The Glossip'
This highly pigmented nail polish in the reddest coral excited me thoroughly. This polish has the biggest brush ever, good just to glide on and bad if your clumsy.. it gets messy..
This needs about two coats, and I must say it doesn't dry very quickly but doesn't dry annoyingly slowly either. These are the new summer collection shades- and I'm definitely looking forward to trying out some more different shades!
RRP - £9

ANATOMICALS - spray misty (full size)
I love, love this spray it is cooling and smells devine. It squirts on quite heavily- it could do with being a little finer. It doesn't set your make-up like it claims but for cooling down the face and body it is simply perfect!
RRP -£6

COOLA Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturiser
As we've been getting alot more hot weather in England I think its rather brilliant that Glossybox sent us a suncream, don't you?!
Coola organics suncare collection is hypoallergenic, free of parabens and packed with antioxidants. What more can you ask for? It provides complete UVA/UVB protection and fights free radicals, while soothing, toning and minimising your pores. It also delivers powerful moisture into your skin with the organic Acai oils.
RRP- Full size 50ml -£25.99

Alterna Haircare Bamboo Style Waves Tousled Texture Mist (sample)
This spray works similarly to a sea salt spray in that it creates soft bouncy waves in the hair but I do think that the effect will be entirely dependent on your hair type. Unlike sea salt spray this doesn't leave my hair feeling sticky and stiff nor a knotted mess- Although this product works like a sea salt spray just without that sticky tacky feeling left on your hair.
RRP- 125ml £23

So I dont know about you but im quite impressed with this months Glossybox.
If you have the lovely heat like we do, keep on top with the sun cream guys!

Happy Monday

WHATS ON MY FACE #1

Alrighty!!! Todays post is very different. I've seen these posts around on quite a few blogs- Mainly
Lilly Pebbles - whatihearttoday.com

WOMF- Whats On My Face?! Check out down below-

Ok so I was trying some makeup I haven't really used that much.
So I started off with my MAC Studio Fix Foundation/Powder which really is fantastic- It gives a medium coverage but you can build it up to a full coverage. It's perfect for oily skin too! (BONUS!) I use this with my Nanshy flat top brush which blends it in perfectly.
For a pop of colour I buffed on my STILA Cream Blush in Lillium on to the apples of my cheeks. This is my all time favourite blusher.

For eyes I wanted a bit of a subtle smokey look - So I of course reached for my Sleek palette in 'Au naturel'. A perfect amount of neutral colours with some darker ones to if you wanted to add a darker colour in your contour of the eye. I applied MAC Woodwinked all over the eye and used the darker brown colour in my crease, also using the black with an angled brush as close as to my lash line as possible - giving the subtle smokey eye.
I then applied my all time fave Rocket Mascara - Maybelline.

For lips I just used the Rimmel apocalipse lip stains which are amazing! They last on your lips for so long- Shade LUNA.

Brushes- Nanshy flat top brush
Real Technique buffing brush
Eco Tools angled brush
Coastal Scents 250 brush - also a dupe for MAC 217

Happy Friday everyone!

My Top 5 Drugstore Mascaras

Hello again lovelies. If your a beginner with makeup and need some mascaras under ten pound?! Check this out.

  • GOSH Growth Mascara
  • Jelly Pong Pong Mascara
  • Maybelline - The Colossal Mascara
  • Rimmel- Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex Mascara
  • Maybelline Rocket Mascara
okay so..

GOSH Growth Mascara
The GOSH Growth Mascara I got in June's Glossybox and I have fallen in love with it, I use it everyday.
Its a mascara that promises to having lasting results, instead of the normal temporary volume. Thanks to some special growth activators, its said to give you visibly longer lashes after just 2 weeks of use. It has a rubber brush with helps promote length and volume.
RRP £10

Jelly Pong Pong Mascara-
I also got this in May's Glossybox. Its a really nice mascara, i'm not really sure how to
describe how it goes on, maybe wet? Is that the word? Putting it in more sense, when you apply it, it doesn't glide on the lashes that well, BUT if you let it dry for about a minute and keep applying it still gives a nice look on your lashes. Not very voluminous.
RRP - Glossybox. under £10.

Maybelline - Colossal-
This was my first ever mascara I ever bought, and have kept re-purchasing it every time it runs out. This mascara does not clump (no matter how many coats you apply), if it starts to clump then you know its time to chuck it out and buy yourself a new one! Washes off really gently with a good cleanser, and it makes my lashes fuller, longer, and voluminous! ALL round favourite.
RRP £ 7.19

Rimmel - Scandaleyes Lycra Flex-
Its the biggest and fattest brush I've probably ever seen in my lifetime... (no joke)
It's a really nice mascara don't get me wrong, but the brush I find to big to apply on to my lashes, it goes quite clumpy after about a month, but giving great volume also.
RRP £7

Rocket mascara
I really adore this mascara, a nice sized wand - it doesn't give a big amount of product on the brush which is great because in that way, it will clump. It makes my lashes fuller and longer, and with a cat eye this is perfect, because it overlaps the flick and makes my eyes look AMAZING.
Really easy to get off also.
RRP- £8

Hope this was handy!

Product Of The Week - Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick. Alternative -Kate Moss Lipstick.

Hello again lovelies, catching up on my blog is a definite must have so I'm posting anything I've missed out on for a while, sorry I've been really busy!

My product of the week today is the Yves Saint Laurent Lipstick In shade 15. I saved up a tiny bit for this product and was debating whether to get it or not, So I made the decision...and it was a good one I made.

YSL Lipstick #15 Coral Extreme.

I had an after party to go to and wanted to jazz myself up a little bit more than I do daily.
So I thought, why not?! Treat yourself, only once in a while that is.

I picked this up at the YSL counter in John Lewis which is a big department store.
The lady was lovely, and giving me tips on these lipsticks. ( She even chucked a few samples of the YSL Serum in my bag, bonus! )

I have not only fell in love with the lipstick itself, but the packaging... oh my... *droooooools*
It's the most beautiful product i've seen. The gold packaging, the colour itself and of course the contents. It has a silky creamy texture and glides on to your lips like velvet, definitely a must have!!

Even goes with my nails...
This lasts for about 8 hours, drink and eat its still on.

Cheeky Selfie of me here.. but wanted to give you all a rough idea of it!
If your thinkin about spending a little bit more extra for something really luxurious, I definitely recommend
you all to get one. BUT If you want a dupe, and your on a budget ... Then here is a lipstick pretty much
the same colour, but a little bit more matte.
RRP £24

Kate Moss Lipstick Shade 12.

Alrighty, so this is the Kate Moss Lipstick- 12.
This was my first ever *bright* Lipstick, and as soon as I saw it I completely fell in love with the colour.

This is a little bit of an alternative blogpost so if your on a budget and you dont want to pay out
for a lipstick which costs a bomb, then this is great.

*SWATCHED*

I love these lipsticks, i thinks its quite matte but you dont have to worry about it being to drying on the lips. As long as you exfoliate and moisturise your lips before hand, it will be perfection. Do note however that it does become dryer throughout the day making it more visibly matte, which I quite like.

RRP £5.49

A big thumps up for these lipsticks. I hope you enjoyed this post, little bit different but I like different.

Nails Of The Day

Hello my lovelies, how have we all been keeping?! Well, I hope.

I've never done one of these before.. so don't expect too much but i'll give a shot! ... Alrighty - Nails of the day!!!

Alrighty, So these are the basics- Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, Nail file,
Sally Hansen Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener. Along side of that.. THE colour itself which
I will get into more detail about down below.

The Instant Cuticle Remover by Sally Hansen is fantastic, I only purchased this about 2
weeks ago and i use it near enough all the time when i'm re painting my nails.
I never really got the whole jist of things - removing cuticles, filing them the right way etc etc.
When I saw this- Mentioned by Viviannadoesmakeup (http://www.youtube.com/user/ViviannaDoesMakeup) I went out and got myself one.

The Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener itself is also really really great. It has a thick brush which is brilliant,
it just glides on your nail with one stroke and done!! It takes about 60 Seconds to dry which is also a bonus.
You might be all thinking why is it blue? It's not, it's clear. I do not have any answer for why it is
that colour ( must be the ingredients itself ). Anyway, I use this for a base-coat and topcoat, perfecto!

I've seen a lot of people talk and rave about these nail polishes, so when i popped into boots, I came across them.
Theres a big range of different colours, from pastels to metallics to the general colours.

This is in the colour 'BOOGIE NIGHTS' and its a mixture of pinks, reds and oranges.
THE perfect colour for me and really brings out my tan I caught in the sun not long ago!

It's more of an orangey red but has a tiny pink undertone. The best part of these nail polishes is that they
can get away with 1 coat but i prefer two, and the price is only £2 !!!!

Alrighty so that was Nails of the day, hope you enjoyed!

Sally Hansen cuticle remover - RRP £2.79 (Ebay)
Sally Hansen Vitamin-Fortified Strengthener- RRP £3
File - Superdrug £1
Sinful Colours nail polish 'BOOGIE NIGHTS' £2

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation - Review

Hello my lovelies!

Ahh.. The good ole MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation.. here's the review...

Alrighty, so I've heard alot about this and really wanted to give it ago, so I did.
This is the MAC Studio Fix Powder/Foundation.
This is my absolute go to product and it was one of the first ever product from M.A.C that i bought and tried and i instantly fell in love with the performance of this powder and i could not even find a flaw.
It has a silky smooth texture and it glides on so effortlessly and covers beautifully. For a powder, its one of the most pigmented foundations I’ve found. It’s particularly helpful for those who have discoloration (age spots, acne scars, redness, etc) and with oily skin, because it leaves a super matte (yet flawless) finish to the skin. It’s light as air, allowing your skin to breath and feel free.

This is always a must have for your handbag girlies, I cannot leave the house without it!

RRP £20.50
